I decided to pursue The Broad Residency so that I could have a more direct impact on urban public education. I look forward to a meaningful career committed to increasing educational achievement and equity in our schools.”

Jeanine Fukuda currently works for Portland Public Schools as a senior manager in systems, planning and performance where she manages strategic projects for the district. She is currently responsible for developing and managing the district’s targeted summer and afterschool programming. Prior to joining The Broad Residency, Fukuda spent eight years with The McGraw-Hill Companies. A graduate of their leadership development program, she held positions in corporate finance, marketing with Standard & Poor’s in London, and broadcasting in San Diego where she developed a television product for national syndication. Most recently she was a member of the senior management team for Wright Group/McGraw-Hill, an educational publisher of products and services for the Pre K-12 and adult education markets. During her tenure, she served as vice president of business development, vice president of marketing and general manager of their professional development business. Prior to business school, Fukuda spent six years in Osaka, Japan as a teacher, curriculum developer and manager at a chain of English language schools for children. Fukuda participated in The Broad Residency in Urban Education Cohort 2008, serving her two-year Residency in Portland Public Schools, Ore.
